Arbutus RV Tech Apprentice Program
Are you looking to start your career? The Arbutus RV Apprentice Program can help set you on a path to becoming a Red Seal RV Tech!
Apprenticeship is a post-secondary pathway consisting of on-the-job training provided by an employer and technical training delivered at a college or vocational school. The training combines alternating periods of on-the-job and technical classroom-based training.
RV service technician technical training spans 8 weeks per year of training. Technical training occurs at VIU in Nanaimo B.C.. While attending technical training Arbutus RV will cover the program cost!
Unlike most trade programs that require a 4-year apprenticeship, the RV service technician apprenticeship program is only three years. Once the apprentice completes the required technical training and on-the-job work experience hours or modules, the apprentice can write the exam for their Red Seal certification. There are many benefits to this form of training including certification, good pay and exciting career opportunities.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Service Advisor. In this role, you'll be the superstar guiding our customers through their service needs and making sure their service experience is as enjoyable as a weekend getaway! Working hand in hand with our sales and service teams, you will help to ensure our customers leave with smiles as big as your enthusiasm.
What We Offer
Salary: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour plus a bonus of up to $2.50 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits package that addresses our staff's overall well-being and includes dental, extended healthcare, life insurance, a healthcare spending account, plus an RRSP match plus employee discounts on all our products and services!

What You Will Do
- Greet customers and assess their service needs.
- Greet customers and make them feel welcome in our store.
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document their service concerns.
- Provide detailed explanations of recommended services and repairs.
- Generate and communicate service quotes to customers.
- Schedule service appointments and manage the service department's workflow.
- Make sure technicians have the whole picture of what services have been authorized.
- Track and follow up on all work orders throughout the day and ensure accuracy of posting and final closing.
- Communicate, communicate, communicate. Make sure nothing gets lost in the shuffle, and customers always feel up-to-date on what is happening with their RV.
- Timing is everything and our customers want to get back on the road to enjoy their RV lifestyle quickly. Prompt attention to their concerns is key.
- Keep those work orders up-to-date, including all pictures and documentation necessary to ensure payment from warranty and insurance companies.
- We don't want you to get bored, so cross-training in parts will be provided as the advisor may occasionally need to assist in this department.

In this role, you'll be responsible for processing deals for 6 busy locations, with the ability to produce accurate work under pressure. You're a problem solver, with a meticulous attention to detail and exceptional communication skills. You also have excellent spreadsheet skills, are comfortable learning and working with specialized software programs, and enjoy resolving issues that come from complex transactions.
If you have previous experience in the automotive or RV industry, even better!

You are a wizard with spreadsheets, with a love for accounting work. You are someone who excels under pressure and has a natural talent for prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities:
- Posting deal transactions daily from 6 locations
- Preparation and reconciliation of commissions payable for submission to payroll
- Posting of after sales from the finance offices
- Liaise with General Manager on allocation of income within the deal structure
- Accounts receivable tracking of finance contracts and customer payments
- Filing and archiving of all related documents
- Some account reconciliations and miscellaneous A/P posting as required
Skills and Experience that Make You a Good Fit:
- Mastery of Microsoft Office
- Highly organized with superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong self-management skills
- Previous bookkeeping/accounting experience is a bonus.
Our company relies on IDS software to simplify our accounting procedures, but don't worry if you're not yet familiar with it - we're committed to providing training for the right candidate.
This position is based in Cobble Hill and requires a reliable means of commuting to our location.
